I am home!! I am on my way to the grocery stores (I almost always go to more than one) and I noticed the pretty Virginia leaves changing. Looking forward to our drive out to the Shenandoah Valley this week!

Okay, well, technically this isn't the view from here, but it's pretty much the same view - but right now, I'm on the other side of the plane, and it's full sun, not sunset.

I have been traveling almost non-stop for the past month and a half.  I hope you forgive me for my lack of blogging.  I'm hoping to have some time at home with the Hubs later this week, I'm looking forward to that.

Mr. Puggles seemed to enjoy all of the smells coming out of the kitchen yesterday. Drool fest.

Every night, before we go to bed, Michael takes the dogs out, then gives them treats. He has to entertain Brokaw, so B doesn't go after Princess's treats.  Here he is, "dancing."

Michael bought me flowers yesterday.  In the sense that I was at the grocery store, saw these were marked down to $1.99 and figured I could splurge a little.  So, when Michael met me at the car to help me bring the groceries in, I let him know that he bought me flowers.

He was glad he did. Haha :)

I am home for four days, and this next time I travel, Mr. Wonderful comes with me.  So, yay.

It's crazy how the flowers on our porch have exploded with growth and color in the past week or so.  Just after we stopped watering them, figuring it was the end of Summer, and their death was imminent.

New life is never bad, though. So, welcome, dear flowers!

Well, this isn't the view right now, because right now, he's chewing a bone, so he won't disturb my quiet Saturday morning.

But, this was Brokaw the other night, when I was just getting back from Florida.
We were waiting for Daddy to finish brushing his teeth, etc. Brokaw tried to steal Daddy's spot.

No luck on that, by the way. No luck.

In preparation for Hurricane Irene, I bought batteries, bottled water, and a box of highlights.

Thankfully, we didn't need the first two things.

Today, I put that box of highlights to work.

I have to give my husband props for this excellent surprise when I came home from my trip.
A new light in the dining room!

Michael found this lamp in the trash a while ago. I put new bulbs in it, and it worked! So, I say we rescued it.

While I was gone, M got a neighbor to rig it up as a ceiling light fixture.
We still need to get the ceiling painted.
But I love how it looks!
Way cozier.
Way cooler.
Way brighter.
